Developing a membership site can be a very lucrative as a home based business, and one of the best ways to develop a consistent, profitable income, and predictable cash flow.
Such an online business opportunity is attractive because it can create a long term residual income based upon ongoing paying memberships, usually on a monthly basis.
The concept is simple. Membership sites provide its subscribers specialized knowledge, in the form of fresh monthly, relevant content on a secure password protected area, for a particular niche the site has been developed for. Customers agree to pay a reasonable monthly or quarterly automatically deducted payment for this information, because of their interest in the subject.
To become very profitable, one doesn't necessarily need a huge membership customers base (although the more the better). Look at this way-if a membership site sells for only $30 a month and you have just 400 subscribers, this equates to $12,000 per month, or $144,000 per year in revenue.

For example, let's say you choose to cater to a niche of fellow Internet marketers. You start off creating or offering an information product on Finding Your Niche. What you want to do next is develop a backend product that accompanies or complements the first product.
This way, when your second information product is ready, you can announce it to your list of existing customers and if they found value in your first product, chances are they'll be buying from you again.
So you could offer a software product that helps them find an untapped niche market. Then your backend offer could be a system they can follow to, build a squeeze page, website, build their list, get traffic to their page and so on.
Have you ever heard the saying, 'There's gold in the list' This is often said in reference to the many marketers who have built multi-million dollar empires selling their information products to the same people, not necessarily more customers.
